The Best BBQ Jackfruit Tacos

The best bbq jackfruit tacos – colorful, tasty, and simple! Only seven ingredients, macro balanced, and 30 minutes from stovetop to face.

  • In a large skillet add drained jackfruit and water. Bring to boil and simmer for 20-25 minutes, forking the jackfruit every 5 minutes to break apart. Add more water if needed.
  • While the jackfruit is simmering, shred the cabbage, slice the onion, limes and cilantro. Slice some jalapeños (optional) and set aside.
  • Mix hemp hearts and nutritional yeast and set aside
  • After the jackfruit is broken apart and the water is evaporated (it's ok if there is a little left!), add the bbq sauce and stir until incorporated.
  • Using a clean sauce pan or skillet, heat each of the tortillas for a few seconds on each side.
  • Assemble the tacos! Start with a tortilla, layer with portion of bbq jackfruit, top with red onion, cabbage, cilantro, jalapeños if you wish, and sprinkle with nutritional yeast and hemp heart blend. Serve immediately with lime wedges.
